SONY SIGNS ON TO SIRIUS’ SATELLITE SCHEME
Alpine, Clarion, Delphi Delco, Jensen, Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer and Visteon have already pacted with the satellite broadcaster to produce three-band (or tri-band… or even treble-band… or double-band plus one!) AM/FM/SAT radios.

Curious, isn't it, that Sirius considered Sony joining its team, whereas Sony considered the two companies working together? The Japanese had that same problem during WWII.
Sony Electronics was the most successful division of Sony last year with sales exceeding $12 billion.
Sirius currently has three orbiting satellites capable of broadcasting up to 100 channels of digital quality radio to customers throughout the continental United States. The company plans to deliver the service for a monthly subscription of $9.95.
The company has struck up alliances to install its three-band radios in Ford, Chrysler, BMW, Mercedes, Mazda, Jaguar and Volvo (as well as Freightliner and Sterling heavy trucks).
