OUT OF THIN AIR

Psion WaveFinder Can Pick Up Digital Radio Signals, Send Them to a PC
With Hilary Rosen stomping on the remains of the Napster empire like Godzilla on Tokyo, the music industry must be breathing a little sigh of relief.

Certainly, there are Napster-like threats out there still, but it could be worse, right? It’s not like consumers are just grabbing songs out of thin air. Well, not yet anyway.

They’ll be doing just that once they grab the new Psion WaveFinder.

As described by the Euro version of the Wall Street Journal, the WaveFinder can pick up wireless digital radio signals (both audio and visual), and send them to a PC, where they can be converted immediately to MP3 files. And because WaveFinder picks up digital radio transmissions instead of Internet or analog radio, no Internet connection is required.

That may not be the best news for the industry, especially with XM Radio and Sirius already having their satellites in orbit.

Just a little food for thought. You know, Hilary may wanna invest in an apartment in DC. Something tells us, she’s gonna be spending some more time there in the near future.
