LOUDENERGY DEALS FOXY IN

Online/Offline Music Company Down With Orange County Sound
Newport Beach-based independent music facilitator LoudEnergy [www.loudenergy.com] has signed Foxy, a rock quartet from the company’s Orange County backyard, to its own label, LE Recordings. The one-album deal was put together by LoudEnergy VP Artist Relations John Maurer, who, of course, plays bass in a little band called Social Distortion, which has also made some noise out of OC. Maurer produced Foxy’s debut album, Stay Foxy Por Vida.

Maurer recently had success with another LoudEnergy band, Transmatic, which is now signed to Happy Walters Immortal Records. LoudEnergy, which recently purchased the assets of bankrupt DIY online music compay Riffage.com, first gained notice by announcing it would give 100 percent of the profits from the sale of CDs on its site to the artists who made them. The company says its goal is to provide both signed and unsigned artists with creative and commercial resources, and works with producers such as Maurer to develop talent.

Stay Loco Por Vida is available for purchase on the LoudEnergy site. The band is currently on tour in Europe.
