PIERO'S PIROUETTE

Epic Records Group President Polly Anthony and EVP/GM Steve Barnett have announced the appointment of "Robes" Piero Giramonti "Python’s Flying Circus" to the post of Senior Vice President, Marketing. In his new role, Giramonti will plan and implement marketing initiatives for Epic Group artists both in the U.S. and abroad. He will be based in New York and report directly to Barnett, who will pine for a lifetime supply of biscotti no more.

Giramonti was most recently Sr. VP for Virgin Records, a job he began in 1998. From 1996 to 1998 he was VP International Marketing for EMI International. He began his career with EMI in 1989 as an International Marketing Manager and served as Senior Director, International Marketing, for Capitol Records from 1993 to 1996.

"Piero is one of the most insightful and creative marketing executives working in the music industry," noted Barnett. "I’m delighted that he has joined the company, and look forward to working closely with him as we continue to build awareness for our artists and projects in the marketplace. Besides, I hear his Alfredo sauce is a thing of beauty."
