Matisyahu looks like he’ll sell 85-90k at terrestrial retail, but the album is #1 at iTunes, which should push it over the 100k plateau.

ONE-DAY SALES:
A JUVENILE SHALL LEAD THEM

But Ne-Yo Will Stay Strong, While Hasidic Reggae and Classic Rock Also Make Noise
The week’s top debut is hip-hop star Juvenile, whose Atlantic album is looking like 150k-160k, putting him in the race with current chart-topper Ne-Yo in the Def Jam/IDJ R&B/pop artist’s second week.

The first studio album from Hasid stage-diver Matisyahu (Or Music/Epic) looks like it will sell 85-90k at terrestrial retail, but the album is #1 at iTunes, which should push it over 100k—and that total would likely make Youth a Top 5 debut. The solo LP from Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour (Columbia) should also finish north of100k, once again with help from iTunes.

The fourth noteworthy bow will be from another veteran rapper, Scarface, whose Rap-A-Lot release is trending toward 50k-60k.

Moving from urban to rural, Van Morrison’s album of country standards (Lost Highway) should do around 30k, give or take a few chestnuts…er, units. And the Little Willies (Milking Bull/EMI), a Norah Jones side project that does not have her name on cover, is likely to be scooped up by 20k-30k informed fans.

According to our research, the market was basically flat compared to a week ago, but off by almost 10% vs. the same week last year, when 50 Cent’s The Massacre debuted at 1.1 million units. That keeps business year-to-date trailing last year by around 2-3%.
