Prince teaser

UNSLAVED: Prince has stoked anticipation for next Tuesday’s dual release of Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum by posting "Funknroll" from the former album on YouTube. The throbbing, ’80s-evoking track features horns, synths and a helium vocal from Prince, a playful effect he’s used in the past. And speaking of the past, the two albums will be his first releases on Warner Bros. since the acrimonious split with his original label in the mid-’90s, which he famously dramatized by painting “SLAVE” on his cheek and referring to himself as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.
