Krim announced

THE KRIM RISES: As we hinted would happen a while back, Rick Krim has joined Republic Records as EVP, Artist Development, reporting to Monte and Avery Lipman and EVP Charlie Walk. The former VH1 exec will be responsible for “fostering and encouraging the development and growth” of Republic acts via new avenues, according to a release, encompassing marketing, promotion, TV, film and digital. “Rick’s passion for music and devotion to the artist community has always been his greatest trademark,” says Monte. For his part, Krim declared, “It’s incredible to join a company that’s driving the next era of music,” adding that he was excited “to find different avenues to introduce [artists] to the world.” Kim served as EVP Talent and Music Programming at VH1 from 2001-14; prior to that he served as EMI Music Publishing, where he signed and helped break Goo Goo Dolls, Train and Good Charlotte, among others. He began his career as a business manager at MTV Networks in 1982. (9/11p)
