ROCKIN' OUT LIKE '94: As promised, Weezer has delivered a brand new track from their forthcoming Republic album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End. "Back to the Shack" (hitting radio now) is a manifesto that explicitly promises a return to the hooky crunch of the Alternative trailblazers' best work (notably the blue debut and Pinkerton, which our own President Glauber famously termed "The Paul's Boutique of emo."). In any case, Rivers Cuomo and team have returned big, loud guitars to the forefront of Modern Rock here, and for that we're grateful. (7/21a)
