Pollstar numbers

GOT LIVE IF YOU WANT IT: Pollstar reports that Taylor Swift had the year’s top-earning tour with $112.7 million, surpassing longtime live champ Jon Bon Jovi’s $1.07.3m and becoming the most profitable Country artist’s trek ever. Swift shows also accounted for 21 of the year’s Top 200 grosses. Kenny Chesney earned the #3 spot with $91m. Among the year’s other top tours were jaunts by Beyoncé ($76m), Jay Z and Justin Timberlake ($69m), Fleetwood Mac ($67m), P!nk ($63m), The Eagles ($60m), Justin Bieber ($56m) and Jason Aldean ($51m). One Direction, Luke Bryan, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan and Bruno Mars landed in the Top 20 tours for the first time and are expected to sell even more tix this year. The industry organ notes that the concert biz reached a new peak of $5.1 billion in 2013, with the Top 100 tours adding up to $2.79 billion, a 10.3% spike over 2012. Lower average ticket pricing—offered in the midst of a still-recovering economy--gets much of the credit, by Pollstar’s reckoning. (1/13a)
