King Charles/Jolene Cherry

ALL YOU NEED IS LOV: "Lov Madiba," a tribute to the recently departed icon Nelson Mandela by artist King Charles, is the first release on industry vet Jolene Cherry's new label, The Cherry Party (a JV with Sony through RED). Proceeds from the track, which features guests Katie Melua and Shingai Shoniwa, will benefit the South Africa-based Nelson Mandela's Children's Fund. King Charles' father suffered under the notorious Apartheid system that Mandela dedicated his life to overcoming, and he says he's wanted to do his part to help "keep [the leader/activist's] legacy very active." The London-based singer/songwriter has reached an ever-growing audience of late; he opened for the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park in July and performed a series of sold-out concert dates. (12/12p)
