Ben Adelson made VP A&R at Republic

MAZEL TOV: Ben Adelson has been upped to VP of A&R at Republic Records, reporting to EVP Rob Stevenson. Adelson started at the label as an intern in 2007; he served as President/COO Avery Lipman's assistant before transitioning briefly to Epic. Returning to Republic in 2011, he was made Sr. Director of A&R in 2012. He's worked on projects for Of Monsters & Men, John Newman, Owl City and James Bay, among others, and also co-manages indie-rock troupe Young the Giant. "Monte and Avery Lipman are the most forward-thinking leaders in the music business," Adelson said, adding that since you're buying, he'll have the chef's choice sashimi platter, the toro special and a magnum of cold sake.
