Samsung stay mum on giveaway number

NUMBERS GAME: OK, so we know how much Jay-Z’s album sold, but how many units were downloaded by Galaxy owners in that recent outside-the-box promotion? In response to a Wall Street Journal inquiry, Samsung rep April Martin of PR firm MWW cagily replied, “All we are sharing at this time is that we had 1.2 million downloads of the app. All of those users have access to the album.” According to the item, a representative for Jay-Z didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. So it appears that we’re left to draw our own conclusions, “at this time,” anyway. (7/18a)
