Carrie Underwood takes over from Faith Hill on SNF intro

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME CARRIE? NBC has replaced one blonde country singer with a younger blond country singer to belt out the familiar intro for Sunday Night Football, as Carrie Underwood takes over from Faith Hill, USA Today reports. "For me it just seemed like something fun to do, especially seeing Faith get that hype before the game, " Underwood said yesterday. "It seemed like a good fit and a good time." "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" will get a new spin this season, according to Underwood. “We want to make it sound different, like me,” she said. "We want to be mindful of [Faith's version] and change it up." Coincidentally, the season premiere of TV’s top-rated show features the Dallas Cowboys, quarterbacked by Underwood’s ex, Tony Romo. Less coincidentally, Underwood is set to star in a live version of The Sound of Music on NBC later this year. (5/8a)
