A SWXW MOMENT: Dave Grohl’s SXSW keynote address affirmed the primacy of the human musician, as well as a revelation that Edgar Winter’s “Frankenstein” was a seminal influence on his own career. Who knew? Meanwhile, imagine his surprise when he met up with a hologram of Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, who proceeded to shower onlookers with guitar picks as well as Black Violin androids Wil B and Kev Marcus, the hip-hop string duo which earned raves opening for him.
