GOOGLE FRIEND OR FOE? In the wake of the RIAA’s report last week that Google has failed to make good on its promise to punish pirate web sites, the N.Y. TimesBen Sisario writes about the double-sided relationship the giant online search engine has with the entertainment business. With Google attempting to launch a legitimate online music competitor to Apple and Amazon, this refusal to target infringing music sites that come up in searches is causing some serious problems.
