McCready obit

TRAGIC NEWS from the country music world: Singer Mindy McCready has died; she was 37. Her body was discovered in Heber Springs, AR, on Sunday night. Reports that she took her own life have been widespread but have not yet been officially confirmed. The artist, whose 1996 album Ten Thousand Angels was a multiplatinum smash that spawned two #1 singles, more recently endured more than her share of tribulations—including rehab, legal troubles, tabloid coverage of her affair with married Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens, the removal of her children and the apparent suicide of her boyfriend, David Wilson. Our thoughts go out to her family and fans. (2/18p)
