Mumford & Sons

MUMFORD SETS THE BAR: This week's chart-topping, 600k debut for Mumford & Sons' Babel gets Q4 off to a running start, with upcoming challenges from Taylor Swift's Big Machine album Red (on 10/22) and One Direction's Syco/Columbia release Take Me Home (11/13) on the horizon. Mumford's Babel has also kick-started their Glassnote debut, Sigh No More, which climbs back into the Top 10 this week, adding to its 2.5 million-and-counting sales, much as Adele's 21 did for her debut, 19. All in all, it's got labels and retailers feeling a little better about things as we head into the all-important end of the year. See the complete chart story here. (10/2p)
