Barclays Opening Attracts Star-Studded Crowd

NOTHING BUT NET: Jay-Z launched the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, home of the basketball Nets, with a series of eight concerts, starting last Thursday night (9/27). The hip-hop mogul and part owner of the team also opened the latest version of his 40/40 Club with a gala party that featured a host of luminaries, including IDJ boss Steve Bartels and SVP Shawn “Pecas” Costner, recently deposed WMG head Lyor Cohen, Atlantic’s Julie Greenwald, Rihanna, J. Cole, The Roots ?love, Nets players Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Reggie Evans, Jerry Stackhouse and Josh Childress and the Knicks’ Amare Stoudemire, among many others. (10/1a)
