Jeffrey Jolson-Colburn Passes

JEFFREY JOLSON-COLBURN, former music editor for the Hollywood Reporter, died Saturday at his home in L.A., according to Hollywood Today, the website he founded. The cause of death was not immediately known. Jolson-Colburn, who was in his mid-50s, founded Hollywood Today in late 2006 and during his career also served as a writer, editor and/or publisher at such outlets as Grammy Magazine, Rock Magazine, Woodstock and E! Online. A relative of legendary Hollywood actor and performer Al Jolson, he covered the music industry for the Hollywood Reporter from the late ’80s until the mid-’90s. Jolson-Colburn also attended the Cannes Film Festival and the MIFED film market in Milan during his stint at the publication. Hollywood Today released the following statement: “Our entire family of reporters and writers is devastated at the news of his passing. Jeffrey was our friend as well as our founder, and he will be painfully missed.” (6/25a)
