EMI Music's Gains

ST. DOMINIC’S PREVIEW: Despite the disruption caused by its ongoing acquisition by UMG, EMI continues to perform, thanks to EVP Commercial & Revenue Development Dominic Pandiscia’s distribution team, which this week scores the #2 and #3 albums in Capitol Nashville’s Alan Jackson and Capitol’s The Beach Boys, the latter with their best chart debut ever and the highest since 1974. Jazz veteran Eric Benet (#30) and newcomer Emeli Sande (#31) also bow on the HITS chart, along with the Beatles’ resissued Yellow Submarine soundtrack (#37). Meanwhile, Katy Perry (“Wide Awake”), Luke Bryan (“Drunk on You”) and Little Big Town (“Pontoon”) are all climbing the Digital Songs chart. (6/13p)
