Your Weakend Box Office Rundown

NYUCKS FOR BUCKS: Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games topped the box office for the fourth straight week, beating out Fox’s Farrelly Brothers homage, The Three Stooges. Games notched another $21.5m for a four-week total of $337m and a per-screen average of $5.5k to The Stooges’ $17m and nearly $5k average. Lionsgate also sported the third-place finisher in Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard’s horror deconstruction, The Cabin in the Woods, which notched nearly $15m for a per-screen average of $5.2k. Paramount’s 3-D reboot of James Cameron’s Titanic added another $11.6m to its re-release coffers, for a two-week total of $44.4m, followed by Universal’s American Reunion, which added $10.7m for a cumulative total of $40m in two weeks.
