Brownstein to Pen Memoir

CARRIE ON: Carrie Brownstein, star and co-executive producer of IFC's Portlandia series, a member of the bands Wild Flag and Sleater-Kinney and a regular blogger for NPR, will now write her memoir. The multi-hyphenate talent has signed a deal with Riverhead Press to publish her music-based autobiography. Last February, Brownstein and Portlandia co-star Fred Armisen announced they’d be writing Portlandia: A Guide for Visitors, a parody travel guide based on the acclaimed show, due out in November. The former Sleater-Kinney guitarist is currently on tour with her new band, Wild Flag. This past weekend, she guested on the latest episode of NPR's Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! and WTF with Marc Maron. You can stream or download the Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! episode here and the podcast of her interview with comedian Marc Maron here. (4/3a)
