MANDA ON THE MOVE: Look for Warner Bros Records Urban Music EVP Joie Manda to take over as President of Def Jam, the first in that post since Jay-Z stepped down in 2007 and L.A. Reid assumed control. Manda originally joined Asylum Records in 2004 as head of A&R, rising to EVP/GM of the label alongside current Warner/Reprise Co-President/ Co-CEO Todd Moscowitz. Among the acts he’s worked with are Rick Ross, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Jill Scott, Boosie, Common, Bun B and Wale. He started out as a party promoter in N.Y. before being hired by Funkmaster Flex to A&R his '99 compilation album, The Tunnel, ironically enough, on Def Jam. (3/13p)
