Orange County Music Awards

ORANGE VICTORS: Young the Giant, Jeramiah Red, Railroad to Alaska, Social Distortion, Thrice and Kiev were among the big winners at the 11th annual Orange County Music Awards over the weekend at the City National Grove of Anaheim. Young the Giant came away with three honors, including Best Song and Best Music Video (for “Cough Syrup”), while Jeremiah Red was named Best New Artist and Thrice Best Rock Group. Two-time indie champ Kiev was named Best Indie Band for the second consecutive year, while Social Distortion’s Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes was named Best Album. Rodney Bingenheimer was also given a Lifetime Achievement Award. (3/5p)
