A PERFECT STORM: The Grammys averaged 41.6 million total viewers from 8 to 11 pm, according to Nielsen overnights (the show actually ran until 11:30). That equates to a 22.0 household rating and a 33 share. 60 Minutes provided CBS with a solid lead-in, registering a 10.4 rating and 16 share, followed by the show itself, which averaged around a 26 rating and 38 share. The telecast was up 45% from a year ago (25.2 rating/38 share versus 17.4/27), scoring the highest local rating in at least 22 years. (2/13a)
