Rage for the Machine

RAGE FOR THE MACHINE: Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group, the home of acts including Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Reba, is reportedly being eyed by Sony Music, which is looking to acquire the label, according to Bloomberg News. Big Machine is one of two independent labels, with Cash Money being the other, whose deals with Universal Music Group are up and will be the objects of much outside interest. According to the report, a sale of that magnitude may bring in more than $200 million for the label started by Borchetta in 2005. (11/9p)
