Page Six on Dr. Luke deal

PAGE SIX DOCTORS AN ITEM: Despite its checkered record for accuracy, Page Six continues to be the N.Y. Post’s primary source for music biz news. Today’s item, right below the inevitable lead on Lindsay Lohan’s latest partying exploits, says that Doug Morris is finalizing a five-year deal to create a new company with Dr. Luke that sources say could be worth up to $60 million. Luke's Kemosabe imprint is already based at RCA, but the new deal would vastly expand his role at Sony Music. A source Page Six that Morris is looking to make Luke "his new Jimmy Iovine." The item then reiterates its earlier erroneous claim that Sylvia Rhone is going to Sony to revive the Portrait label. The Rhone deal is definitely not happening now or in the near future. UMG is still supposedly making her an offer, and rumor has it that some big acts have approached her to manage their careers. (8/3a)
