Guy speaks for first time after trial

WHAT IF? In his first public statements since his public humiliation in a New York courtroom, Guy Hands said that he and Terra Firma would "look like geniuses" if they hadn't bought EMI. "EMI is where EMI is," Hands added, in a variant of then-Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green’s “They are who we thought they were,” while speaking today at the Super Investor conference in Paris. He also came up with a quip: “As I said to my dentist last week after a morning of new fillings and a lot of drilling, ‘It is so nice to be here, so much more enjoyable having one’s teeth drilled than appearing as a witness in a U.S. court.’ Regardless of the court result, all I can say is there is always the next deal, and that is my main focus now.” (11/18a)
