Ke$ha Sues Former Manager

KE$HA VS. SONENBERG: Ke$ha is living up to her dollar sign, suing former manager David Sonenberg after he filed a $14 million suit against her for allegedly unpaid commissions, according to Hollywood Reporter. The performer is asking the California Labor Commissioner to declare her contract with DAS Communications void because it acted as an unlicensed talent agent while representing her. Ke$ha was sued in N.Y. in May for allegedly breaching a 2006 deal to pay the management company 20% of her music earnings. The singer then hired RCA/Jive Record Group to represent her, responding in August with a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that she was well within her rights to fire the management company. And now Ke$ha is moving the fight to California, where she is alleging DAS procured her various gigs, which goes against the state’s Talent Agencies Act, in which managers are expressly prohibited from booking engagements for their clients.
