Whalley's Old World?

PEEPING TOM: Could recently departed Warner Bros. Records Chairman Tom Whalley be headed back to Interscope for a reunion with his old boss Jimmy Iovine? Whalley originally left the label when then-WMG head Roger Ames signed him to a five-year deal reportedly worth $30-40 million in May, 2000, despite 18 months being left on his Interscope deal. Whalley officially joined WBR in August 2001, after the label managed to get him out of his UMG contract five months before its Jan. 2002 expiration. Edgar Bronfman's deal to acquire WMG closed in March, 2004, starting an uneasy six-year alliance between his appointed chief Lyor Cohen and Whalley, which was finally resolved last month. (10/4p)
