MARA IS SALANDER: Rooney Mara, the daughter of N.Y. Giants VP Player Evaluation Tim Mara, whose great-grandfathers include the late Giant owner Wellington Mara and Pittsburgh Steeler boss Dan Rooney, has won the derby to play Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s American version of the best-selling Millennium Trilogy by Swedish author Stieg Larsson. Mara, who also has a role in The Social Network, Fincher’s upcoming movie about Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, beat out a number of well-known female actors for the role, including Natalie Portman, Ellen Page, Carey Mulligan and Scarlett Johansson, opposite Daniel Craig’s Michael Blomkvist.
