Grainge-Hole

CIRCLE THE DATE: Just 22 days till the arrival of Doug Morris’ heir apparent, Lucian Grainge, at UMG headquarters in N.Y. It’ll be an abbreviated first week, since Grainge’s July 1 start date is the Thursday before the long Fourth of July weekend, when, under normal circumstances, the hallways would be all but deserted. The English exec will be co-CEO with Morris, who also retains his Chairman’s title. Interestingly, Grainge’s successor as Universal’s head of international in London is his longtime right-hand man Max Hole, who once ran East West’s U.K. operations for Morris at Warner Music. (6/9a)
