Hands Warns Private Equity

HANDS ON PRIVATE EQUITY WOES: Guy Hands warned that this year will not only be difficult for Terra Firma, but for the entire private-equity sector. In his letter accompanying the company’s annual report, Hands said: "2010 will definitely be tougher than most people expect. I would therefore like to thank all of our investors for their continued support in these tough times." Hands said that the economic difficulties will provide significant opportunities for some firms, though insists private equity should reduce the amount of debt they use in deals.
