R&R Hall of Fame Ceremony

THE FAME GAME: Last night’s 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony at N.Y.’s Waldorf-Astoria featured press room visits from all the major inductees—ABBA, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies and The Stooges—according to our correspondents, tourbuzz’s Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen. Highlight of the evening was a bare-chested Iggy Pop bringing about a dozen brave souls from the black-tie-clad audience on-stage for “I Wanna Be Your Dog.” R&RHOF chief Joel Peresman announced that the induction ceremony would be held at least once every three years in its home of Cleveland in the future. The Hollies’ Tony Sylvester summed up the evening best: “We started out in the ‘60s and now we’re in our 60s.” Touche. The entire event, all four hours of it, was televised once again by Madison Square Garden music cable network Fuse. (3/16a)
