THE RENEGADE IS A CLASSICAL K.O.

Like the harmonies of his group Pentatonix, there are many beautiful layers to KevinK.O.” Olusola. The cellist, beatboxer and producer, who recently won a Grammy as a member of the platinum-selling vocal quintet, has released his debut solo effort The Renegade EP (RCA), which shot to #1 on iTunes Classical Album Chart.

Olusola has an accomplished classical background, performing at Carnegie Hall twice as soloist on the cello and saxophone, winning second place in the international competition “Celebrate and Collaborate with Yo-Yo Ma," and being hand-picked by Quincy Jones to represent him in concert at the 2012 Montreux Jazz Festival.

"K.O." has pioneered a unique new approach to classical arrangement called celloboxing (simultaneously playing cello and beatboxing). His new 5 track EP includes insanely original versions of John Legend’s “All Of Me," Demi Lovato’s “Heart Attack,” and a stirring rendition of Sam Smith's "Stay With Me," which is currently sitting at #1 on the iTunes Classical Singles chart.

Oh and in case you weren't impressed enough, Olusola is a also former Yale pre-med student majoring in East Asian Studies, spending 18 months in Beijing and becoming fluent in Chinese as a part of his fellowship. WTF!

If you're not already on your feet clapping in awe at this dude, stand up.

Here's the title track.
