As the entire music world braces for the entry of Apple Music's redefining presence in the streaming market next week, no one is clenching harder than TIDAL, who made some strategic moves today with the announcement of two desktop apps and a specially-priced student subscription.
Starting Monday, students who sign up using their .edu email addresses will get a 50% discount-- offered on both TIDAL tiers, the basic and "hi-fidelity" versions.
Since the service prides itself on exclusives to differentiate itself from the field, it will be interesting to see what new content they will feature to lure the tastemaker college crowd. They nabbed a killer one today from Lil Wayne called "Glory," the first track from the rapper's highly anticipated Free Weezy Album.
