UNDERWOOD CARRIES THE NIGHT AT CMT MUSIC AWARDS

The 2015 CMT Music Awards turned into Carrie Underwood’s Comeback Special Wednesday night at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, CMT’s Tim Ghianni noted in his post-show wrap-up.

She picked up the Collaborative Video of the Year buckle for “Somethin’ Bad,” her hit with friend Miranda Lambert. Underwood later received the night’s biggest award—Video of the Year for “Something in the Water”—as well as winning Female Video of the Year for the same title.

Underwood had just returned to performing live the night before on the Grand Ole Opry after taking maternity leave with her new son Isaiah, born in February. Her husband, Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators, cheered his wife on from the floor of the arena, where he plies his trade.
