DIGITAL WHIZ HUI SAILS TO SONY U.K.

Sony Music U.K. has announced the appointment of longtime digital-music exec Dorothy Hui to the post of VP Digital Business.

Dorothy segues over from Roc Nation, where she handled digital marketing for the label and music management for artists including Rihanna, Kanye West, Shakira, Rita Ora and J. Cole. Hui previously led digital-marketing efforts for Universal Motown and Wind-up and has been known to jam with her very own band in her spare time.

Said Sony U.K. chief Jason Iley, “Dorothy has played a key role in building and shaping digital business throughout her career. She is a very gifted creative with a next-level understanding of social media."

The two worked together at Roc Nation, where Iley was formerly President.

In her statement, Hui acknowledged "the incredible, innovative team at Roc Nation for an amazing three years. I'm looking forward to the beginning of a new chapter during what is without doubt an exciting time for Sony Music and the global music industry."
