BROADWAY THE HITS WAY

The Top-Grossing Shows in NYC

As the humidity in the Big Apple begins to rise, so do the numbers for Broadway's highest grossing shows. Although nothing new breaks into the Top 10 this week, most of the shows see substantial sales bumps.

1. The Lion King $2.15m
2. Wicked $1.95m
3. Aladdin $1.63m
4. The Book of Mormon $1.52m
5. An American in Paris $1.44m
6. The Audience $1.21m
7. Something Rotten! $1.17m
8. The King and I $1.15m
9. Finding Neverland $1.13m
10. Matilda $1.04m

In other stage-related news, it's been confirmed that an adaptation of Bombshell, the fictional Marilyn Monroe musical from NBC's Katharine McPhee-led Smash, is in the works. Hold on to your hat, buddy.
