YE JOLLY OLDE iTUNES U.K. CHARTS

The 11-day week (see Sales Update) is a fading memory at iTunes here and abroad—and the top-selling album, which has held serve since the first week of Wimbledon, has finally been outpointed. The new champ is Capitol's Hey Violet with the pop group's debut EP.

The bargain hunters are out in force in Britain, with hits comps comprising 50% of the Top 10, while a sale-priced classic-rock best-of occupies a sixth slot. That leaves four current albums from individual acts: the aforementioned Hey Violet, Years & Years (Polydor U.K./Interscope U.S.), the debuting Tame Impala (Modular/UMG) and James Bay (Republic worldwide, baby). Another Polydor act, Dutch electronic producer Sam Feldt is responsible for one of five new singles entries on the big board, along with Capitol's 5SOS and SYCO/Sony popsters Little Mix—both managed by Richard Griffiths, as is Hey Violet, which gives him today's trifecta—Universal’s Avicii and Columbia's Calvin Harris.
