SALES UPDATE:
TOP 10 TRACKS

Every track on the chart has experienced a precipitous drop, but that’s hardly shocking considering that the most recent completed sales week had a mere seven days compared to the prior week’s 11 days. So we’ll spare you those essentially irrelevant details and focus instead on the pecking order.

We rarely see this phenomenon, but the leaderboard is unchanged from a week ago, apart from Capitol’s Silento trading places with Big Machine’s Taylor Swift. As you can see, only three records were in seven digits, and there were no impactful debuts. All in all, about as meh as it gets. Which is why we’re accompanying this drivel with the U.S. picture sleeve of The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction,” which topped the charts exactly 50 years ago. Sigh.
