SAY HELLO TO HAELOS

Hotly tipped Matador London synth trio Hælos look set for big things in 2016 after signing to Coran Capshaw's Red Light Management, to be co-managed by James Sandom and Jess Lord.

Formed last October by Arthur Delaney, Dom Goldsmith and Lotti Benardout, the group bears similarities to Ministry of Sound's development act London Grammar and counts influences including Massive Attack and Portishead.

After posting their first track, "Dust," online in October last year and receiving support from press and blogs such as The Line of Best Fit, Clash and Pitchfork, as well as radio across the globe, from KCRW to Radio 1 and Triple JJJ, Hælos released their Earth Not Above EP in June.

A string of summer festival dates were followed by a U.K. tour that included shows at London's Roundhouse supporting TV on the Radio. On 10/26 the band play Manchester's Night & Day Cafe before visiting The Laundry in London on 10/27 and continuing to Pitchfork Festival Paris on 10/29 and Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin on 11/7.

Early next year the band will make their way to North America to play a run of headline dates, returning in the spring for SXSW. Hælos' debut album, scheduled for 4/3, is being A&R’d by Matador chief Chris Lombardi.

Red Light have been working with them for around a year. Other acts managed by Sandom include Bastille, Interpol, Kaiser Chiefs, Crystal Castles and Belle & Sebastian.

Matador's U.K. office, headed up by Natalie Judge, scored one of the most interesting indie breakthroughs with U.K. band Savages in 2013. Could Hælos be the label's next success story in Blighty?
