BIEBER'S LYFT ACTIVATION PROVIDES RIDERS WITH PURPOSE

Team Justin Bieber has joined Lyft for an unusual new promotion on behalf of the star’s 11/13 Def Jam album, Purpose. A video on Biebs’ YouTube page lays it out: During release week, Lyft users who take a ride costing $5 or more in “Bieber mode” will be able to snag the album for a mere $5 in the mobile ride-share company’s app. When the ride is completed, customers will receive a download link—and get a $5 credit for a future ride.

Check out the clip, in which Bieber hits the road with some Lyft riders, here:

In a related story, manager Scooter Braun took a Lyft car to his local weed dispensary, and later brought new dimension to the phrase “What do you mean?”

Purpose currently sits at #6 on the iTunes album chart in pre-order, while “Sorry” is the #4 single. Bieber will go head-to-head with SYCO/Columbia’s One Direction for the #1 chart position.
