Melissa McCarthy's newest comedy, Universal's The Boss, finished up just ahead of Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman (now in its third week) in a squeaker of a race to #1.
For those keeping score, Batman v Superman is just about to pass the $300m mark domestically, despite its rapid decline. Red-hot Disney animated feature Zootopia, meanwhile, is also preparing to hit $300m.
1. The Boss (Universal) $23m 3,480/$6,747 avg. (debut)
2. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Warner Bros.) $23m 4,102/$5,713 avg. (week 3)
3. Zootopia (Disney) $14m 3,444/$4,168 avg. (week 6)
4. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (Universal) $6m 3,027/$2,121 avg. (week 3)
