LARS TALKS GRAMMY SNAFU WITH CORDEN

James Hetfield’s mic issues at the Grammys? Could it have been caused by an over-exuberant dancer in the mosh pit flailing away to Metallica and Lady Gaga?

Grammy telecast producer Ken Ehrlich told the Associated Press, “My guys say that the mic cable was connected. My guys’ theory was that … one of the extras (on stage) accidentally kicked out the cable that went to the mic.”

After singing into a dead mic, Hetfield got cheek-to-cheek with Lady Gaga and used her microphone. As Lars Ulrich told James Corden on The Late, Late Show, that makes for good television. In the long run, Ehrlich says “obviously, we apologize to the band.”

Ulrich talked about the incident with Corden, but it hardly compares to a Spinal Tap moment the band experienced in England years ago.
