LA LA LAND STREAMS PICK UP

Once the dust was settled over the confusion about the Best Picture Oscar winner, many Oscar-watchers turned away from their TVs to enjoy the La La Land soundtrack. The Interscope-released album saw a 225% increase in streams on Spotify in the hour after the awards concluded; it’s also up to #17 at Apple Music.

The Oscar-winning song "City of Stars" saw a spike 295% at Spotify. Spotify’s calculation is based on a comparison of the number of streams from hour after Sunday’s telecast with the same hour a week earlier. The soundtrack now has more than 190m streams on Spotify worldwide.
