CLIVE DOC AND ITS SOUNDTRACK GET DATES (UPDATE)

Check out the Apple Music trailer for the Clive Davis documentary The Soundtrack of Our Lives, which has just been enjoying a triumphant festival run and will bow on Apple Music on 10/3.

The service's exclusive online run of the film marks another advance for Apple Music's programming, which was recently enhanced by the star-studded Carpool Karaoke series, among other unique content.

Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings will release a digital deluxe edition of the doc’s soundtrack on 9/27 and a standard 20-track version on 9/29.

And it’s all hits—Blood Sweat & Tears’ “Spinning Wheel,” Barry Manilow’s “Mandy,” Patti Smith’s “Because the Night,” Santana’s “Smooth,” a couple of Whitney Houston duets and more.

A bonus track is Clive reading the lyrics to Bruce Springsteen’s “Blinded by the Light.” Guessing Clive will make “Some silicone sister with her manager's mister told me I got what it takes/She said, I'll turn you on, sonny, to something strong if you play that song with the funky break” sound positively Shakespearean.
