WMG BOARD ADDS LOUSADA, PLATT

Max Lousada, Warner/Chappell Music CEO Jon Platt and Noreena Hertz have been elected to the Warner Music Group Corp. board of directors. Warner Bros. Records CEO Cameron Strang, after six years of service, has resigned from the board.

Lousada’s election comes as he arrives in his new role of CEO, Recorded Music. Hertz, an international economist, was on the board from 2014 to 2016. The WMG Board of Directors now has 13 members, up from 11.

“With Max now bringing his entrepreneurial vision to our entire Recorded Music operation, and Jon leading Warner/Chappell to new heights around the world, they will bring invaluable insight to our Board,” WMG CEO Steven Cooper said. “I’m also delighted that we’ll once again draw on Noreena’s unique global perspective and experience, which were so welcome during her previous tenure.”

In its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, WMG wrote “the Company believes the new directors’ various experiences in the entertainment industry, advising and managing companies, among other qualifications described above, give them the qualifications and skills to serve as directors of the company.”

The new directors hold office until the next annual general meeting of shareholders.
