U.K. MIDWEEKS: GEORGE MICHAEL HEADS FOR #1

George Michael is at the top of the U.K.’s Official Albums midweek chart with a reissued version of Listen Without Prejudice (Sony Music CG) charging for the #1 spot.

Listen Without Prejudice, which includes new tracks, was released after Channel 4’s screening of Michael’s documentary, Freedom, last week.

The debut from Niall Horan, Flicker (Capitol), sits 25k combined sales behind at #2. Horan, the third One Direction member to release a solo debut, follows bandmates Zayn and Harry Styles both hit #1 in Blighty with their solo sets.

Rap duo Krept & Konan have two entries in the Top 10: 7 Days (Virgin EMI), at #5 and 7 Nights, at #9. Jessie Ware enters at #6 with her third album, Glasshouse (Island).

The Official Singles Chart Top 5 has again hit a stagnant period with Taylor Swift securing the highest new entry with “Gorgeous” (Virgin EMI) at #10. Post Malone (Island) is heading for a fourth week at #1 with “Rockstar” f/21 Savage, which is 4k sales ahead of Camila Cabello f/Young Thug’s “Havana” (Syco). “Silence” (Ministry of Sound) by Marshmello f/Khalid has risen for the 11th straight week to enter the Top 5 at #3. The second highest new entry is Rita Ora’s “Anywhere” (Atlantic) starting at #20.
