STEVE DAHL,
1946-2017

Steve Dahl, the longtime head of Paradigm Talent Agency's Fairs & Festivals department, died Sunday in Nashville. He was 71.

In 1986, Dahl opened the Nashville office of Monterey Peninsula Artists, which Paradigm purchased in 2004.

He served stints as Vice President and Director-At-Large for the Academy of Country Music, and also served on the boards of the International Association of Fairs & Expositions, the International Entertainment Buyers Association and the Country Music Association.

“He was an extraordinary presence at this agency and in the Nashville music community, and will be deeply missed,” Paradigm said in a statement.

Prior to working as an agent, Dahl was singer/frontman/trumpeter for The Red Dogs, a rhythm & blues band out of Kansas that toured widely in the Midwest and recorded a single for ATCO. The Red Dogs have been inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, the Nebraska Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and the South Dakota Rock & Roll Music Association Hall of Fame.
